Legal and Institutional Framework Guiding the Education Sector

Current Status of Legal and Institutional Framework Guiding Education Sector By participating Country

The table below gives an overview of the current status of the legal, regulatory and institutional framework guiding the Education systems in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
NOTE: It is interesting to note that in the hyper information age and a post-COVID-19 world ESSPs and Curriculum, frameworks were not easily available on the Ministry of Education websites for Malawi and Mozambique or “findable” on the MoEST website for Tanzania. These gaps highlight the region’s need for robust Education Management Information Systems (EMIS).

Education Management Information Systems (EMIS)

Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) is an essential tool to support decision-making at all levels and on all aspects of an education system and improve the management of learning. Challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic have made it clear that a modern EMIS must move beyond routine administrative tasks and student’s head counts to become an ecosystem that facilitates access to relevant data in real-time along with analysis and dissemination in friendly formats. – UNESCO Community of Practice on EMIS   Other relevant resources: Kuyenda Collective Community of Practice on Education Systems Strengthening
